9. Study and Action Research :-

Following Research Studies have been initiated in the Programme Area.

1.  One Research Study is conducted to study different factors responsible for the diminishing population of the hill Korwa(Pahari Korwa) in Jashpur & Surguja districts focusing on the nutritional, health, sociological & anthropological aspects. This is conducted by the Post Graduate Department of Sociology, Gramya Bharti Vidhyapeeth, Hardi Bazar, Korba. From these districts 03 Blocks-namely Bagicha, Kusmi & Lundra  (where maximum concentration of Hill Korwa lies) has been selected purposely. On the basis of the same criterion 14 villages were selected.  It has started in the month of June and Total time for the study is 6 Months.

2.   The second study is conducted jointly by IFAD and WFP. In the context of its new Initiative to Mainstream Innovations (IMI). Main purpose of the study is to document innovative approaches and best practices to poverty targeting in projects that use demand-driven approaches to determine allocation of project resources. Goal of the study is to illustrate how poverty targeting can be achieved under demand-driven approaches and how these approaches can be replicated and upscale. Objectives were:

o       To document processes and mechanisms through which the CTDP has ensured access to project benefits and services by the poorest communities and sections of the population (and in particular women and Schedules tribes) while using demand-driven approaches to determine resource allocation;

o       To illustrate to what extent and in what way these approaches have been innovative for the context in which they have been applied;

o       To draw lessons from this experience in terms of institutionalization and replication of these approaches.

o       The Study Team comprised of  Ms. Annina Lubock- Technical Advisor, Gender and Household Food Security, Ms. Daniela- Associate Professional officer and Ms. Nisha Shrivastava- Research Coordinator. Data collection was done with the help of Samarthan, a NGO in Chhattisgarh. 

3.   Another monographic study conducted on Birhore Primitive Tribal Group by Budhadev Jankalyan Samiti specially focuses the anthropological, social, cultural and economic status in or programme area. The report also provides different social, agricultural, educational and social problems among these groups and their fruitful remedial measures.

4.   "Study of Tribal  Gender Rites " was  conducted by  a social organization "Samyak Jansewa  and Shikshan Sansthan ,Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) ". 

5.   NTFP , A Report On Availability ,Avenues And Options For Processing ,Value Addition And Marketing And Assessing Their Scope As Source Of Livelihood. 

6.   A "Monographic Study of Birhor Tribals " conducted by a social organization "Budadev Jankalyan Samiti, Rajatalab ,Sai Mandir Raipur (Chhattisgarh)". 

7.   "Impact Assessment Survey & Study of Chhattisgarh Tribal Development Programme " is conducted by "Centre for    Bharatiya Marketing Development ,New Delhi".
